They hired an SEO agency to rewrite the content to make it more visible on Google.

Looking at Google Search Console and comparing the last 6 months to the previous 6 months…

Impressions doubled but clicks stayed the same.

Enquiries to the site plummeted.

We’re reverting back to the copywriter’s content.

I never thought I would audit a site where the copywriter’s content won against search engine optimized content.

I’ve also noticed the huge difference in tone of voice, writing style, and vocabulary.

Copywriters’ jobs need to be protected.

What’s next?

Improving just 0.5% of your CTR can almost double your traffic.

Removed all nonsense fluff content from pages.
