I had a blog post that Google absolutely refused to rank in organic listings, said UniGuide.
So I tested things and bought an ad for the post.
And suddenly that blog post appeared in organic listings as well.
I canceled the ad and my blog post also disappeared from organic rankings.
The entire platform is pay to play.
I just wish they would be more transparent about that instead of wasting so many people’s time.
But they rely on making publishers believe they have opportunities in organic search because Google needs the content, at least until they can reliably copy it and not depend on publishers at all.
It’s a really sick relationship.
Toxic.
Very depressing.
The industry is begging for disruption.
Haven’t tested, but I did see a service I searched for by state and #1 paid and organic was the same, said Ron.
I then modified it to find the best service by a handful of states.
Almost every time the #1 paid result was #1 organic on an exact match domain.
Someone made a bunch of micro sites, optimized for one term, took out ads against that term, and ranked for all states I searched.
Definitely seems pay to play in that area.
